For inquiry 2 I'm considering 3 different movies that have won the Best Picture Oscar award. Forrest Gump, The Godfather, and possibly West Side Story. They seem to have correlations between their content and major events in the world or culture changes. I've seen 2 of the 3 movies before and I've seen them many many times, especially Forrest Gump. Some films I probably wouldn't use for an assignment like this would be movies like Chicago or One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
My peers mainly advised that I don't summarize the movie as much and to analyze certain parts of my paper more clearly. I had a few typos here and there and someone commented about the clarity of my writing. Mason's and Abby's feedback was really helpful and they gave me a lot to consider as I reform and finish my final draft. In the final draft my thoughts on what the seen revealed about the movie should hopefully be clearer and my analysis more detailed. I am writing about 2 scenes in particular and I will write as such instead of the reader being confused that I am only talking about one.
For Inquiry One I'll probably write about "The Life of Pi". I have never seen this film the whole way through but I did watch the first 30 or so minutes of it and a couple reoccurring themes popped out to me. Like the how Pi related his belief system to his experiences that he's had with animals and in particular a tiger. I haven't found an actual clip to analyze yet but this is a pretty long movie so I'm sure I'll find something. And if I don't include the part about the animals I'll probably still write about the reoccurring scenes about religion.
This film interested me at first because of the graphics and how amazing the color contrasts are, but now that I'm actually watching the movie I'm not really sure why I like it but, I do. |
